Tie Dye Cupcakes

I made these today.
They are too cute. Used a Duncan Hines white cake mix (NOT yellow). Made it according to the package directions. Divided the batter into fourths. Dyed each fourth a different color. (I used the Americolor dyes). Then, using my smallest scooper, one color at a time, scooped some of each into each cupcake liner. Use white liners so you can see the colors. Do not stir them. Made exactly 18 cupcakes.
Then I iced them with vanilla buttercream and put festive sprinkles on the top. Easy and amazingly cute.

My friend, Reidun, Erin and I visited all 12 quilt stores on the Blue Bonnet Shop Hop. Reidun’s first year. Lots of great quilts and inspration! We also visited a fabulous native plant nursery in Medina. Absolutely beautiful!!!! Everything was in bloom and a little bluebird came out of its nest to show off for us. Loved it!! Thanks Ernesto!

Wow!! Just picked up our turkeys from being processed. So, there are now seven jumbo (a couple are EXTRA-jumbo) guys in the freezer. YUM!! We have some serious poultry – all home grown.

Presidents vs. Aliens

I have become hooked on a game for my Iphone called “Presidents vs. Aliens”. The game asks questions about the presidents and you answer from a choice of four presidents. If you answer correctly, that president’s head becomes a weapon to take out the aliens. If you clear out all the aliens in a round, you earn a president for your collection. Three right answers in a row earns a temporary special power. Try it!!
